Mission Statement
The mission of the West Side Mutual Aid is to provide the best collective response to fires, emergencies and disasters in our respective municipalities. The West Side Mutual Aid was organized to provide a cooperative agreement between member organizations and municipalities for mutual assistance in times of emergencies whether they be natural or man-made. Though it is the individual communities’ responsibility to provide for the preservation of life and property in their respective community, the Mutual Aid was designed to provide rapid appropriate aid to its members and/or any other organizations that may be in need of assistance.
The mission also includes a collective priority to provide the best possible service to our respective communities. It is in the best position to assist its member communities in a continuous improvement of services by being a clearing house for improved training and providing its members with an inventory of the available apparatus, equipment and tools necessary to perform the basic mission of preservation of life and property.
In the post 9/11 world this organization must assume a larger, more important role in the protection of its respective communities. The increased importance of inter-operability of all emergency services understates what the Mutual Aid Association was originally formed to accomplish.
